STATE PRIZE MARE

Being a Federal breeding organisation, the Trakehner Verband is not in a position to award the title of "State Prize Mare", as this title lies within the responsibility of the States' own ministries of agriculture. However, a number of Trakehner mares hold this title, which they have won at regional horsebreeding parades where they compete with mares from other populations and are assessed by jurors on site. Applications can be submitted by the Trakehner Verband, by the Chairman of the Breeding District, the owner, the Chamber of Agriculture or the State Horsebreeding Programme.
